Leave it to the social media trolls that I am even writing this.

Yes, I am in utter disbelief that someone would actually do this and apparently, it does happen. It happens often enough that the widow groups attempt to screen the request to join the groups. I can now say, I have been accused by a social media troll of lying about the death of my husband. Not kidding.

I will never understand why someone would actually lie about this. This group that I have the misfortune of being part of is not glamorous. I cannot fathom lying about this because I feel like if you did, you clearly just want attention. I don't want attention and I definitely don't want your sad eyed sympathy. I want understanding. I want people to understand this side. No one goes into a wedding day, thinking about this day when everything changes. No one thinks about that moment when you go from wife to widow.

To the social media trolls, please think about how you would feel if someone accused you of lying about the death of your spouse. If you wouldn't want these things said about you, please don't say them to others.
